About Sallids
Sallids is a branch of Salford LIDS (Local Initiatives Diverse Skills)
Salford LIDS has evolved over the years to meet the needs of the community. We have learned from our experience in Local Exchange Trading Schemes that incentives are important in a well functioning group.
We have also learned to start small so that we do not get overwhelmed. Working with like minded people is also a must. Salford LIDS is presently working with Lawrence Cassidy in an exhibition called Retracing Salford. They are recording stories from the terraced streets in the 1930s to the present day in areas of Salford 5,6,7. putting them on C.D. and broadcasting them on local community radio.
Salford LIDS for some years have had an interest in alternatives in health, energy and green ways of living.
Sallids has grown out of this.
