Plans are afoot to introduce rickshaws to The Salford Quays.

The idea is to ask local businesses to contribute and buy a rickshaw and the young residents to drive it.

Some of the disillusioned youngsters who live locally are not great academics and many of them have difficulty getting work nowadays because of this. However they all ride bikes.

The hope is that they will work as self employed drivers advertising andgiving lifts to people. Sallids will be encouraging the drivers to take responsibility for their work thus growing in confidence. Hopefully this will take the place of any bored anti social behaviour.

Other exciting ideas are rickshaws for health and disabled rides. Sallids are working with local charities in order to use the rickshaw for fundraising.

Plugs need Spiders

Having spent many years living with neighbours who helped  and looked after each other, I have come to the conclusion that working together, but doing what you want , is a good way of living.

So Sallids (an offshoot of Salford Lids) are branching out in that direction. (note the growing references)

We are growing spider plants as they absorb pollution and hoping to sell them in the multitude of heavily electrically polluted offices on Salford Quays. Watch this space and if any local people are interested please contact us.
